What's New at Mariner's Village Marina
A Note to Our Friends - Summer 2007
Greetings!
So much has taken place over the past few months, it's hard to know where to start.
Mariner's Village Marina officially opened the doors May 1. We've seen a steady stream of visitors and have many of the racks leased out for the summer. People love the idea of the in/out valet service: the convenience, security, and reduced maintenance requirements have been a big hit for those who keep their boat indoors with us. And, believe it or not, winter storage reservations are already coming in as boaters take advantage of our special, incentive rates. (Call George at 231-627-2200, ext. 12 for details. But don't wait. This is for a limited time only.)
Boutique Shopping
Stop in and visit our boutique, located on the river side of the marina. We've put together a selection of goods from nine different area stores to offer you a unique mix of gift items, snacks, and supplies. You'll find Dippin' Dots ice cream, clothes from Billies, Par-T-Port drinks and sandwiches, candy and Crocs from Dar's Hallmark/Kilwin's, a wonderful selection of regional and maritime books from the Log Mark Bookstore, beautiful canvases from PhotoArt by Wolfe, nice gifts from Shanty Boy Gifts and Framing, as well as a very special selection of items from Chapters. And, we've partnered up with West Marine to provide you with basic boating supplies you can grab on the go when the need arises.
Interior and Member's Lounge
The Member's Lounge is set up. We picked out comfortable furniture and have it arranged for your relaxation when you want to get off the boat for awhile. Kick back and watch the 50' big screen TV, or tap into our free wireless internet service. There's also a free laundry facility, and clean restrooms/showers for your use.
Exterior and Landscaping
What a difference! In just the past few weeks, we've added dozens of trees and bushes to the grounds, all topped off by a lush carpet of grass. We've been anticipating this for so long! It's the icing on the cake and really makes the marina look beautiful. We've added a gazebo with seating, picnic tables, and a custom yard arm as well so we can fly our colors with pride. The floating dock has been installed at the well for easy on/off your boat, and the electrical and water hookups are in place and operational for overnight stays. And lastly, the front parking lot is being paved for that final finishing touch.
Cheboygan Yacht Club
The Cheboygan Yacht Club has moved into Mariner's Village Marina and is now hosting their weekly Tuesday night picnic BBQs with us. We are so pleased to have the group as part of the Mariner's Village Marina family. If you'd like more information on this fun bunch of boaters, call Commodore Don Schorfhaar directly at 231-627-2906 and see how you can become a member.
The Boathouse Restaurant
Stop in and check out our new menu! Lots of wonderful new items including • Roasted Pork Loin • Steak and Portabella Alfredo • Mahi Mahi Mango • and New Signature Burgers! Plus, we kept our classics like • Great Lakes Whitefish • and Honey Pecan Walleye.
And, now through the summer, every Tuesday night is Caribbean Night with live music by Bruce Kapala, an area favorite, playing a variety of music to entertain you. We also offer island drinks, appetizers, and entrée specials all out on the only waterside deck seating in the entire area.
Located right next door to Mariner's Village Marina. Call ahead for a reservation at 231-627-4316.
Stop in and take a tour of Mariner's Village Marina. George, Koz, Jack and the rest of the crew will be happy to show you around and tell you all about our summer in/out valet service or the indoor winter heated storage.
Sincerely,
John and Lisa Knaffla
