Hello Everyone!
Wow, what a summer! Only a few short months ago, the building was just starting to look like a real structure. First, pilings were driven into the ground. From that, huge beams and the inner structure of the building started to form the outline of our main marina storage facility. The racks that hold the boats were bolted in and you could start to actually see how the boats would be stacked-up to four high!

Every day brought changes and eventually the sides and roof were added. Soon after it was enclosed, the cement flooring was poured and we had a completed building.
The building is a Golden Giant brand complete design-to-build system. Golden Giant is the premier engineering/design company in the US specializing in large unobstructed “clear space” structures like ours. It's guaranteed to withstand our harsh Northern weather, keeping your boat safe and secure year-round. With 35,000 sq. feet of heated storage; four racks high--it's big!

With the mega-structure completed, we could start the next phase, which included tapping into the City of Cheboygan water system, hooking up the Brigade fire suppression system, installing the state-of-the-art Cambridge heaters, paving the parking lot, and adding the finishing touches in the ships store / shower / bath / lounge areas.

In August, we had a Sneak Preview party. The entire town was invited and we had people come from as far away as Florida to see what we'd been up to at Mariner's Village Marina. Hundreds showed up and enjoyed the food, drink, and music as well as a chance to see first hand the inside of our marina.
Mark your calendar for our next event—our Grand Opening! Mother's Day weekend, May 12-13 this coming spring. The two-day open house will include boat excursions, food, drink, music, prizes, and fun for the entire family. We'll keep you posted as the date draws nearer.
